This Summer has been full of giving time and money back to the communities across Oklahoma. While we have helped these communities grow themselves through their infrastructure, they have helped us grow as a company and as a team.
During the past year, CGE adopted North Highland Elementary School, an elementary school in the Oklahoma City Public School District. Our employees have volunteered, assisting the teachers in the classrooms. As the beginning of school was approaching, we asked the principal how we could help further. We decided to give each student a backpack with the NHES name on it and image of their school mascot, and filled it with necessary school supplies. In addition, we made backpacks for the teachers filled with snack items and a WalMart gift card so they could purchase supplies for their classroom. Statistically speaking, teachers spend a minimum of $500 annually to purchase school supplies, using their own money. We are delighted to help this school and are looking forward to spending many more hours assisting the teachers this fall!
Additionally, both of our offices were able to also lend a hand at their local Habitat for Humanity.
On June 15th, CGE's Tulsa office assisted Central Habitat for Humanity putting finishing touches on a new home for a deserving family. They accomplished a multitude of tasks: installing countertops in the kitchen, putting doors on frames, putting up blinds on all windows, and installing shelving in all cabinets. Although we knew our employees were talented, we had no idea how handy they are! On August 19th, the OKC office was delighted to help the Habitat for Humanity with two houses. Their assignment included: painting the eaves of both houses, installing trim and sealing gaps around it, and taping off around base boards for painting. CGE would like to thank Central Habitat for Humanity for allowing us to come and serve together. We hope to have the opportunity to assist again in the future!
