Holdenville, Oklahoma is a small city experiencing the challenges of aging infrastructure and limited resources to operate, maintain, repair and replace necessary water and wastewater facilities. CGE has worked with the City to evaluate the water and wastewater plants and provided recommendations that can be phased. In 2015, CGE helped the City secure a CDBG grant for improvements to the water treatment plant backwash ponds, which are under an order from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. We also prepared the necessary engineering report and cost estimate to help the City receive a Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) grant from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for structural repairs to one of the filters and complete replacement of the media in all three (3) filters. Currently, we are under construction to convert one clarifier to a solids contact unit and install tank aeration for THM removal and provide a new SCADA system for the WTP.
