The City of Altus (City) secured a grant from South Western Oklahoma Development Authority (SWODA) for sidewalk improvement projects and requested the project to be constructed in two phases. The scope of work included the improvement of 2.2 miles of sidewalk along Park Lane from Ridgecrest North, tying into existing sidewalk north of Falcon Road.

The Phase 1 sidewalk improvement extended from Ridgecrest North approximately ¾ mile, and was connected to Phase 2, and extended north along Park Lane to just north of Falcon Road.
